Crevier’s No. 1 inspiration is her musician father, Rob Crevier, drummer for local group K’Niption Fit. She grew up listening to him play, and he was the one who gave her her first guitar. She said watching and listening to him in all matters of music has been a constant source of encouragement in developing her own skills and sound.

Crevier’s entire family serves as inspiration. Her childhood piano teacher had a positive musical influence, on both her sound and her life. Listening to groups like the Beatles and Pink Floyd only increased her passion for music.

When writing her own songs, Crevier is inspired by her native Montana’s surroundings.

“The appeal of the natural beauty here keeps me motivated to write,” she said.

The Singer Songwriter Showdown is not Crevier’s first competition. She also competed in the annual Flathead Valley Texaco Country Showdown in 2011. Even though she is not new to the competitive stage, Crevier admits to being nervous about the coming show.

“It’s so nerve-wracking because I haven’t performed in front of anyone for awhile,” she said.

Despite her nerves, Crevier said she is looking forward to the Showdown on Friday.

“It will be a learning experience,” she said. “And it’s a great chance to draw inspiration from others around the Valley. It’s exciting.”

Going forward this year, Crevier hopes to have the opportunity to play more around the Valley and gain some exposure and experience.
