Driver reports the great Columbia Falls parking dilemma of 2015

A Fourth Avenue West man called the Columbia Falls Police Department to report a person who had parked behind his vehicle, creating a “parking dilemma.”

A man’s truck was reportedly broken into on Ninth Avenue West. The caller said it was his roommates’ car, and some money and items had been stolen out of the unlocked vehicle.

A Sixth Avenue East-North resident called authorities to report the father of her children was refusing to turn over their kids as planned. Both parties were counseled and the woman got her kids.


An O’Brien Avenue property owner called the Whitefish Police Department to report a construction company next door which was backing some heavy machinery over his property. They allegedly had a fence which was not set up properly, and the man’s lawn was collateral damage.

A Columbia Avenue resident called about a deer entangled in baling wire. The caller was certain if the unfortunate ungulate were to make a break for it, it would end up strangling itself. An officer was able to free the deer and it took off to tell tales of mankind’s kindness to other woodland creatures.

A man on Baker Avenue called about hitting a deer with his car after two dogs chased it in front of his vehicle.


The Smith Valley Fire Department was called about a chimney fire on Whalebone Drive at 10:04 a.m.


The Kalispell Fire Department was called about a chimney fire on U.S. 93 at 12:37 p.m.


The Polson Police Department made an arrest for driving under the influence on Fourth Avenue at 2:26 a.m.
