Cat got your tongue? Not in this case

A man on Tumblehome Avenue called the Whitefish Police Department to report a man threatening him. The caller said he had come from Canada to sell the man a “snowcat,” but was being threatened by his potential buyer. The caller said the angry man said he was going to come after his family. Police talked to the two men and uncovered a bizarre twist. Not only was the man threatening to take the caller to court, the contention was not over a snowcat snow machine, but a literal cat.

A Central Avenue bartender called police after one patron shoved another one to the ground. The shover was booted from the bar, and then tried to pick another fight in front of a coffee shop. The man was approached by officers, told not to go to any more bars and to get on the train in the morning.


The Kalispell Police Department was called after a man stole a power washer and ran out of a home improvement store. He left the washer outside when he noticed he was being followed by an employee. The man is not welcome back.

A caller in a restaurant on Main Street reported her son was choking but they had cleared the airway. The 2-year old had been choking on a mint and was now throwing up. The mother said she was going to take him to the hospital to make sure everything was all right.


Firefighters were called to a garage fire on Essex Place north of Glacier High School shortly after 6 p.m.


The Ronan Police Department made an arrest at a hospital for criminal contempt at 5:11 p.m.
