Kathy D. Sundh, 50, of Kalispell, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015, after an extended illness.

Kathy was born Nov. 2, 1964, in Pensacola, Florida, to John and Shirley Castleberry. It was there that she met the love of her life, Marlon Sundh. They married on Sept. 27, 1986, and were later blessed with the births of two sons, Brandon in 1990 and Tyler in 1994.

Kathy had a passion for knitting, gardening and antiquing, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved studying God’s word and being involved in Bible study groups. Her Sunday school children brought much joy to her and she loved each and every one of them.

All who knew Kathy were amazed by her unwavering faith, courage, strength and tenacity throughout her illness. She was truly an inspiration to all of us.

Kathy was preceded in death by her grandparents, and her brother Johnny.

She is survived by her husband, Marlon, whom she always referred to as “her rock.” She is also survived by her sons, Brandon and Kinlie, and Tyler; parents, John and Shirley Castleberry; brother, Kevin and Kim; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gary and Dianne Sundh, (whom Kathy called “her angel”); sisters-in-law, Mindy Fuzesy, and Dulcie and Britt Tonjum; nieces, Brianne, Erin, Stacia, Ainsley, Laney and Nichole; and nephew, Johnny. Kathy is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends too numerous to mention.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Transplant Team, Kalispell Regional Medical Center, ALERT, Big Sky I.V. and Dr. David Habel. Your compassionate care of our dear Kathy will never be forgotten.

A viewing will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Bigfork, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery, also in Bigfork.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, which was Kathy’s favorite charity.

Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home is caring for Kathy’s family. You are invited to go www.jgfuneralhome.com to offer condolences and view Kathy’s tribute wall.
