Mary Faith Uhde Friesen, 81

Mary Faith Uhde Friesen passed away in Vancouver, Washington, on March 29, 2003. She was 81.

Mary was born on April 7, 1921, in Rollins to Fred and Faith Uhde. She was the oldest child of five. She was raised in Rollins and after high school moved to Southern California to attend college and work.

In 1946 she married Raymond Jack Friesen, a California native and veteran of World War II, and lived in Compton, then Long Beach, California. They had two children — Larry Allen born in 1950 and Leslie Ann in 1954. Mary continued to work while being a devoted wife and loving mother.

Preceding her in death were her three younger brothers, Paul, Dick and Jim, and her best friend, Ruth Cornish.

Mary left behind her husband and children; her sister, Carol Weaver, and sister-in-law, Juanita Uhde, both of Montana; cousins, nieces and nephews residing in Montana, Washington, Arkansas and California; Kim and Stacy Cooper, whom she called her granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
