Raymond Jack Friesen, 92

Raymond Jack Friesen passed away in Las Vegas on June 21, 2015. He was 92.

Ray was born on May 8, 1923, in Glendale, California, to Abe and Marie Friesen.

He was the youngest child of three. He was raised in Reedley, California, and after high school joined the National Guard. In 1941 Ray went into the Army and served during World War II in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged after four years of service.   In November 1946 he married Mary Faith Uhde, a Montana native, and lived in Compton, then Long Beach, California. They had two children — Larry Allen born in 1950 and Leslie Ann in 1954.

Ray retired from Shell Oil Company after 35 years of service.

Preceding him in death were his wife, his brother Milton, who gave his life in World War II in Europe, his sister June, and longtime friends Ruth and Rex Cornish, and Arline and Rene Champagne.

Ray left behind his children, cousins, nieces and nephews residing in California, Washington and Montana; Kim and Stacy Cooper, whom he called his granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Rest in peace. You will be greatly missed.
