Velma 'Peggy' Grace Armstrong, 79

Velma “Peggy” Grace Armstrong, 79, passed away on June 11, 2015, at   North Valley Hospital in Whitefish.

Velma was born Jan. 30, 1936, in Otto, Pennsylvania, to Caroline and Alfred Smith and was raised in Great Valley, New York.

She worked as a mother, cook, baker, cleaner and certified nursing assistant.

On Feb. 4, 1955, she married Bill Armstrong in Great Valley, “and now rejoins him.”

Peggy was a avid wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sewer, quilter, sunbather, hiker, bike rider, berry picker and fisherwoman. 

Peggy is survived by her children, Aleisa and Rick Stevens, Peggy Peterson, Bill and Dee Armstrong, and Martin Armstrong; sister, Fay Morton; grandchildren, Miranda, Leslee, Carol, Lauren, Marty, Steven, Angelica, Shannon and Heather; and great-grandchildren, Derek, Brooklyn, Kaitlyn, Easton, Cole, Ava and Grace.

A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. July 11 at the Hungry Horse Elementary School.
