Mary ‘Phyllis’ Campbell, 96 recent

Phyllis Campbell, 96, of Kalispell, passed away July 4, 2015, at Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell.

Phyllis was born Feb. 20, 1919, to Luther and Margaret (Johnson) Logan, in the Fairmont area, east of Kalispell. She was raised on her parents’ farm in that area, graduating from eighth grade at Montford School in 1934. After grade school, she attended Flathead County High School, and graduated in 1938.

On Sept. 15, 1939, she was married to James W. Campbell. They lived briefly in San Francisco and Seattle, but returned to Kalispell after World War II, where she had lived since.

  Phyllis and James had two daughters, Kathleen Lykins and Linda Walsten, both residing in Kalispell. She has nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Margaret; her husband, James; a grandson, Benjamin; and her sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Bob Thompson.

Phyllis was a member of the United Methodist Church in Kalispell.

A visitation will be held for Phyllis from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday evening, July 10, with funeral services to be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home. Following the service, burial will take place at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
