Pushy salesman reported to police

A man selling “security” near Hilltop Avenue was not taking “no” for an answer, according to a report to the Kalispell Police Department.

An Appleway Drive resident reported his wallet stolen. He later found it without the cash inside. He suspected a homeless person had taken it.

The manager of a North Main Street hotel tried to kick some people out of the place. They told the manager to call law enforcement, so he did.

A child was playing with a phone and dialed 911. There was no emergency and the parent was apologetic, but the child could be heard saying “911 again!”

A witness told police that a man was “really high and wandering around” U.S. 93. The witness knew the man was high because he allegedly said so.

Employees of a First Avenue East North business saw a woman who allegedly stole $1,000 in groceries a week before.

Police asked a man who was loudly cursing near East Center Street to move along.

Workers at an Airport Road business thought they had convinced a drunken man to walk home. He reportedly walked a bit and then ran back to jump in his truck and drive away.

A vehicle was reported to be sitting at a Sixth Avenue East intersection, running and unmoved for nearly two hours.


A man asked the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office for the serial numbers to some guns he purchased at a police auction 15 years ago.

There was a disruptive man seen on U.S. 2 East near Kalispell. He was reported to be stumbling, “rattling” car door handles and later waving his arms in the middle of the street.

Someone cut the fence at a Shady Lane business. The suspect left behind a duffle bag.

A Gunsite Loop resident claimed that a neighbor was dumping the contents of a cat litter box beneath her window.

A Marion business owner wouldn’t open up for the day because a “suspicious” man was sitting out front in a car.

A potential scam call came to an Antique Ridge resident. The caller wanted to access the resident’s computer to “fix it.” The resident refused and hung up, but the person called back and reportedly threatened her.

Deputies responded to a report of a fight on Friday at a raceway. The man alleged to be at fault later called the Sheriff’s Office to dispute those findings.

Someone on Ichabod Lane reported that a tree was left on the property.

One caller, possibly drunk, reported that somebody had a gun at a Hungry Horse Boulevard business. Deputies spoke to people at the business, and nobody saw any disturbances.

A dog on Klondyke Loop was reportedly under fire from neighborhood kids throwing rocks.

A Meadow Lake Drive resident reported a neighbor’s fire pit, thinking it was illegal. Dispatch determined that it was OK under stage 1 fire restrictions, but the caller did not believe it.

A man found his car door open on Ridgewood Drive. Some e-cigarettes were taken.


An ambulance with the Whitefish Fire Department was dispatched to aid a woman who sprayed herself in the face with bear mace near Lion Mountain Trail.


The Whitefish Police Department arrested two men for allegedly stealing a 24-pack of cigarettes.

Someone reportedly opened up a stranger’s car and sat inside to wait for the owner on East Second Street. The vehicle trespasser was concerned about a dog inside.

Witnesses saw someone jump out of a vehicle in the middle of Park Avenue and run off. Someone else moved it to the side of the road.


Two people were reportedly assaulted while in a vehicle, according to a report to the Columbia Falls Police Department. This happened on Ninth Street West.
