Jack Owen Dukleth, 72

Jack Owen Dukleth, 72, of Missoula, died Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at Hillside Manor in Missoula.

Born on Aug. 13, 1942, in Seattle, he was the son of Doris Francis (Munter) Dukleth formerly of Kalispell, and Owen Robert “Bud” Dukleth formerly of Kalispell (both now deceased).

Mr. Dukleth graduated from Flathead County High School in 1961 and graduated from Northern Montana College in 1963. Following college, he enlisted in the Army where he worked as a photogrammetrist stationed in Japan, Virginia and Hawaii.

Following his military service, he returned to Kalispell with the U.S. Forest Service and also met his future wife. Together they moved to Missoula where he was  principally employed as a cartographer/photogrammetrist with the Missoula Blueprint Company.

Mr. Dukleth’s principle interests in his spare time over his lifetime were skiing, hiking, woodworking, welding, metal working, antique engines and collecting and restoring antique cast iron toys.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Glenda Erleen (Johnson) Dukleth, daughter of the late Harry Edward Johnson, formerly of Whitefish, and the late Clara Elizabeth (Stubbs) formerly of Kalispell.

Jack Owen is also survived by one son, Anthony Owen, of Missoula; four siblings, Fred Robert of the Bissell rural area near Whitefish, Richard Martin and his wife Rozanne Marie (Aamoth) of Helena, David “Dave” Lowell and his wife Sherry Lynn (Waterbury) of Dayton, Nevada, and Janice Diane (Dukleth) Braaten and her husband Gordon A. Braaten of Lake Stevens, Washington.

Jack Owen was preceded in death by one son, Martin Kyle, formerly of Missoula; four grandparents, Victor Munter, formerly of Kalispell; Flathead, Paul Martin Dukleth, formerly of the Bissell rural area near Whitefish; Clara Tomina (Christopherson) Munter, formerly of Kalispell; and Bertha (Wollan) Dukleth, formerly of the Bissell rural area.

No services are planned. Cremation and private internment at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery, Kalispell are planned.

The family expresses their thanks to the staff and management at Hillside Healthcare Center and St. Patrick’s Hospital of Missoula for their efforts in caring for Mr. Dukleth during his final days.
