Deli heist suspect meats his match

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputies and local police tracked down a man who stole $5 in deli food from a Hutton Ranch Road business.

A 15-year-old girl was bound for Libby on a train, but no adult was there to pick her up. She stayed on the train while authorities tried to arrange a family member to meet in Whitefish. A cousin eventually came to pick up the girl.

One caller noted that five geese became roadkill on Montford Road, and somebody needed to clear them from the street.

Someone apparently misdialed 911, and dispatch overheard someone talking about “onions, dude” inside a fast-food restaurant.

A caller said that a shirtless man threatened her with a baseball bat and later pulled out a gun near a Montana 35 business.

A woman reportedly tried to tell a man not to urinate on the garbage cans, and he cussed at her before driving away.

Some Scenic Drive residents thought it was a scam when they received a call on a Sunday, and the caller claimed to be from a cable company. The caller wanted to schedule an appointment, saying it was because the residents ordered so many XXX movies. The resident affirmed that they had not ordered such movies.

A Mountain Drive resident felt that her neighbor threatened to punch a 9-year-old. The neighbor felt that his words were taken out of context.

One caller was upset because he found his gaming console for sale on the internet. He let someone borrow it days before.

Some people were reportedly camped out near a school on Commerce Street in Bigfork and using the building’s bathrooms.

An East Oregon Street resident was trying to sell a trailer but became upset because a man was “trying to get him to lower the price.”

A Flathead Drive resident told authorities that a car pulled up in the driveway and spun a “brodie.” Then a man got out, peed in the driveway and yelled something about “God sending him on his way.”


 

The Lakeside Quick Response Unit was called to assist at a crash on U.S. 93 south of Rollins. Traffic was held up while the scene was cleared and at least one person was injured.


 

The Whitefish Fire Department responded when a car hit a building on U.S. 93 South. The driver complained of a hand injury.


 

The Whitefish Police Department was unable to locate a deer that was reported to have a “dangling” leg near Woodland Place.

There was a noise complaint that came from Denver Street. The suspected party people agreed to keep it down.


 

One caller had little information for the Columbia Falls Police Department to deal with. The caller referenced “a situation” at “an apartment” but didn’t say what the address was or what the situation involved. The caller also didn’t give up his or her own name or phone number.

There was a report of an attempted break-in on Second Avenue West.

Some people were throwing eggs at homes in town, according to one report. The vehicle was last seen on Riparian Road.
