OPINION: Our 'Supreme' leaders are now false prophets

It is bad enough that in recent years elected officials in the executive and legislative branches of the federal government have disobeyed their oaths of office and in so doing, have betrayed the citizens of America.

But now the members of the judicial branch of government, the unelected justices relied upon to intervene and prevent an overreach of power by the president and Congress, have turned the Supreme Court of the United States into feckless, black-robed choir members and enablers for the president instead of adhering steadfastly to their sworn duty to provide checks and balances to the actions of the other two branches of government.

By also acting in a lawless manner, the judicial branch of government has inadvertently created new standards that will surely hasten the demise of our once great nation.

In their first of two recent monumental blunders, the unabashedly liberal justices led by John Roberts, ignored indisputable facts and ruled that Obamacare must survive at all costs regardless of the specific wording of existing laws “for the good of the nation.” Instead of obeying the Constitution, which makes it clear that only Congress can make or change laws, the activist justices assumed the power to change laws themselves to suit their personal political viewpoints.

By acting in the manner they did, the Supreme Court destroyed their credibility now and forever. Having established a new precedent, don’t be surprised if future Supreme Court decisions adversely affect you personally. If the court can change laws to give one group of voters something they don’t deserve, the court can also create new laws to deprive you of things guaranteed by the Constitution, like free speech or the right to protect yourself and your family.

Regardless of the controversial subject matter, the real issue of the second Supreme Court decision regarding gay marriage is about the justices’ decision to disobey, once again, the U.S. Constitution. The First Amendment clearly states: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...” So what is a religion? Merriam-Webster defines religion as: “a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs and ways of doing things.” Is not the legalization of murder by abortion a religious law in direct conflict with the Ten Commandments? Is not the imposition of fines on a Christian baker who refuses to participate in a gay wedding choosing sides in a religious matter?

Traditional religions have for centuries embraced a set of tenets based on laws believed to be handed down by God. The framers of the Constitution relied on Christian theology for guidance in creating the laws of the United States that give all citizens equal rights and freedoms. The Founding Fathers were specific in denying their new government the power to create laws that would conflict with established religious dogma. And yet that is precisely what exists today and with the latest ruling by the Supreme Court, the federal government has further established its own religion that supersedes traditional beliefs in direct disregard of the protections guaranteed to citizens by the First Amendment.

Try to visualize the outcome when Justice Ginsburg walks into a bakery in Dearborn, Mich., and demands that the Muslim owner create a rainbow colored cake for a gay wedding. If the baker were to refuse because the Koran says it is wrong, the follower of Islam would be fined and charged with civil disobedience. Of course such will never happen since bureaucrats in the federal government are too cowardly to impose such equal treatment on Muslims. Christians and Jews are much safer targets.

Now that the liberal justices, by their recent ruling, have created their own theocracy, I feel it is appropriate to confer on them titles to match their deeds. The leader of the coven will be the High Priestess, Ruth Bader Ginsberg. She will be assisted by the Queen of Darkness, Elena Kagan, and the Almighty Sorceress, Sonia Sotomayor. Since Chief Justice John Roberts wisely avoided the court’s ecumenical council, we’ll bestow the title of Grand Wizard upon Stephen Breyer. The other founder of the SCOTUS Church is the Mystic Mufti, Anthony Kennedy.

These pompous, liberal idolaters must be really full of themselves having overturned centuries of religious tradition in America by the mere stroke of a pen. I pray our nation can survive the damage caused by these irresponsible false prophets.
