Nova 'Billie' Ione Johnson, 85

On July 12, 2015, Billie passed away peacefully of natural causes. She was surrounded by her children at Genesis care facility in Whitefish. She was 85 years old.

Billie was born in Whitefish on Nov. 4, 1929, to Charles and Daisy Duff.

Billie graduated from Whitefish High School in 1947 and attended Kinman Business School in Spokane. She married Glen Johnson on Jan. 2, 1949, in Whitefish. Billie was a homemaker and very active in golf, bowling and fishing. She enjoyed being on Whitefish Lake where she spent summers at the cabin with her children, sister Eva, nieces and nephews. She was also active in the Whitefish Winter Carnival in the early years through the Whitefish Lake Boat Club. She loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought her great joy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Johnson; brother, Roy Duff; sister, Eva DeVall; parents Charles and Daisy Duff, and grandson, Christopher Foster.

Billie is survived by son, Terry Johnson and wife Ruby; daughter, Lynn and husband Jim Smith; grandchildren, Kim Carr and family, Wendy Mauer and family, Sonny Johnson and family, Harry Bagley and family and Darrell Bagley and family; sister Norma “Pee Wee” Brzoznowski; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 3:30 on July 25 at Whitefish Methodist Church. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to your favorite charity.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Genesis care and rehab for their loving care and devotion to Billie for the last 10 years of her life. You were all very special to her.
