LETTER: Silent Congress virtually useless

| July 22, 2015 9:00 PM

I am appalled at the silence of the lambs emanating from Washington, D.C.! If you are among the mute in Congress, shame on you.

Oregon (with its attack on a baker defending marriage) shows us once again WHY our constitutionally secured republican form of government, with its BILL OF RIGHTS, is so important to individual liberty and freedom.

All the trade agreements in the world will not replace any lost rights or liberty once gone.

This idiocy is begging for a counter-suit, with punitive damages, against Oregon for the Christian plaintiffs’ distress and the state’s despotic behavior against them.

This is nothing more than judicial tyranny — the kind George the Third would have approved. I thought that kind of thing ended in 1781. Apparently, history is doomed to repeat.

Again, Congress, it is your duty to ensure that First Amendment and other protections are defended and remain secured from such actions.

That you remain silent is telling on who you are...

Please do your duty and rebuke this nonsense publicly. Otherwise, another voter will turn against you next election. —Jim Greaves, Thompson Falls
