Edna E. Colbry Duncan, 93

| July 27, 2015 9:34 PM

Edna E. Colbry Duncan, 93, died at her Lakeside home on July 25, 2015, with family there to care for her.

Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 31, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Joplin, with a luncheon to follow. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Highland Cemetery in Havre. Arrangements are by Rockman Funeral Chapel, Chester; 406-759-5550.

Edna was born near Joplin in 1921. She married a Chester farmer, George Colbry, in 1939. They raised a family of five. The Colbrys retired in 1968 and moved to Table Bay Resort at Rollins, where they helped establish the Coast Guard Auxiliary Unit on Flathead Lake. They wintered in Mesa, Arizona, and enjoyed RVing. George died in 1988. Edna married Robert Duncan in 1998. They lived in Lakeside and Mesa and spent seven years together until Robert died in 2005.

Over the years, Edna enjoyed embroidery, boating, fishing, reading, dancing, bowling, snowmobiling, cards and table games and cooking.  She was the proverbial “hostess” when it came to entertaining.

She is survived by three daughters, April and Ken Rygh of Mesa, Mable and Roger Lincoln of Gildford, Montana, and Fern Lincoln Larson of Mount Vernon, Washington; two sons, Earl and Shirley Colbry of Chester and Roger and Suzie Colbry of Boise, Idaho; ex-daughter-in-law, Lynda Colbry, of Portland; brother, Harold “Nick” Wood, of Polson; 17 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Home Options Hospice in Kalispell, Lakeside Quick Response Unit in Lakeside, or the donor’s choice.
