LETTER: Sowell is a jewel

While on vacation in Kalispell I had a chance to pick up a copy of your paper. When I got to the opinion page and saw the headline “What about the new Civil War?” I immediately thought, here we go again!

How wrong I was! Mr. Sowell turned out to be the most levelheaded person imaginable. His article was so intelligent and filled with common sense. Why can’t everyone see how right he is on this issue? Great article. —Larry Thompson, Tucson
