Celebratory seniors told to move along

A Kalispell Police Department officer stopped at a couple of vehicles shortly after midnight at Lawrence Park. According to the report, they were “Glacier seniors enjoying their freedom.” The officer advised them to enjoy their freedom somewhere else at the late hour.

A driver dialed 911 because she locked herself out of her car on West Idaho Street.

Another caller wanted to know what the time was. It was 4:39 p.m.

A woman told police that her boyfriend stole her car. It was later revealed that the boyfriend had permission to drive but the woman didn’t want him to drive that day.

The offending driver of a hit-and-run on Rosewood Drive apparently left a note that said the crash was intentional.

Witnesses told police that a man who lived in his pickup would strip down to change clothes and leave trash on the ground.

While screening a potential employee, a fast-foot restaurant manager found that one person failed a drug test. The manager sought counsel from police.


One person called the Whitefish Police Department with several complaints. One was about a boat trailer without a license plate. Another was about kids being on boats without life jackets.


One woman told the Columbia Falls Police Department that it appeared someone stole her hide-a-key and took the car for a joyride.

A man became worried when his girlfriend left for work and then the employer called back hours later asking where she was. The woman was eventually located and was perfectly fine.


A resident of First Street Southeast in Hungry Horse found a “trail of clothes” out her back door. She told the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office that $800 in clothing had been stolen, including a $200 “hippie skirt.”

Someone was spinning a Buick in circles and honking the horn for an extended time near Adams Street.

Deputies assisted an intoxicated man resting on U.S. 2 near Kalispell.

The manager of a Vista Lane business wanted to kick a man off the property. The suspect allegedly brought his own beer, which wasn’t allowed. He was later reported urinating near the road.

There was a mysterious man in a tank top hanging out near some homes on West Evergreen Drive. The caller said that at one point, the man charged the vehicle with a stick in his hand.

Somebody stole a large box from a camper on Halfmoon Flats Road. The box contained inflatable tubes, which were worth about $1,200, according to the caller.

Ownership of a boat motor led to apparent threats to a U.S. 2 resident near Kalispell.

A bloodied man was reported to the Sheriff’s Office after he was purportedly beaten up near Woodland Drive. The man was not cooperative with law enforcement and refused any assistance.


Flathead Electric Cooperative reported more than 5,700 members temporarily were without power on Monday afternoon. A transmission line went out near Flathead Lake, affecting people mainly in Somers and Bigfork.
