Cycling event on July 25 raises money for CASA

| June 2, 2015 9:00 PM

The Cycling for Children fundraising bicycle ride for CASA will be Saturday, July 25, in the Flathead Valley.

The fully supported ride includes 20-, 40- and 80-mile routes starting at 8 a.m. in Whitefish.

Court Appointed Special Advocates for Kids Flathead County provides a voice for abused and neglected children in the Flathead Valley.

The ride starts at the Saddle Club (next to Alpine Market) in Whitefish and heads to Columbia Falls. The first stop and turnaround point for the 20-mile ride will be at the Montana Veterans Home.

Those riders continuing will travel south through the Flathead Valley and along the foothills of the Swan Range and enjoy a challenging yet pleasant route with breathtaking views of the mountains. The route is designed to minimize dangerous intersection crossings.

Snack stops, mechanical support and sag wagons will be offered throughout the route. All routes conclude in Whitefish.

Registration for the 20-mile ride is $25; 40-mile ride $50; and $80-mile ride $60. There will be a $10 late fee for participants who register after July 22.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the ride benefit local children and CASA’s 70 local trained volunteers who speak up on their behalf in the legal system and courts.

Register online at wwww.casaride.wordpress.com or download the form from the website and mail it to CASA for Kids, P.O. Box 11195, Kalispell, MT 59904.
