Pre-wedding jitters take violent turn

A man’s future father-in-law allegedly threatened to rip his head off if he showed up at a particular house. The man called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office because he was trying to retrieve his kids.

A small car was reported stolen from Brunner Road.

Authorities were unable to locate a mysterious “shiny object” that was reported to be in the river near Columbia Falls.

A Ridgewood Drive resident sold a vehicle to a friend but left her plates on the car. The friend hadn’t paid her in full either.

A Sundance Court resident said that somebody tried to break into the home by “throwing” him or herself against the door.

A 30-year-old woman reportedly gave her Social Security number and birth date to a suspected phone scammer.

A woman visiting her son at a treatment facility reported that a credit card and other items were stolen from her wallet. However, when she checked a little harder, she found the missing items in the bottom of her purse.

Flowers were reported stolen from a Conrad Drive gravesite.

There was a man outside of a U.S. 2 business asking customers for a ride to either Columbia Falls or North Dakota.

A utility company employee went to check on a delinquent account holder on Montana 206 near Columbia Falls. The resident threatened to “murder” the worker if he stepped on the property.

One driver felt that a man was suspicious due to the fact that he wore a hoodie and was pushing a bicycle on East Evergreen Drive. This was reported to the Sheriff’s Office.


The Kalispell Police Department arrested an unregistered hotel guest who was hanging out by the pool on East Idaho.

A shirtless, “obviously intoxicated” man was reported running across U.S. 93 South. The same man was kicked out of a local business.

A Third Avenue East resident reported that a fancy car was drag-racing against nobody else.

U.S. 92 North was blocked temporarily due to  car crash. No injuries were reported.

The driver of a pickup reportedly used a hand gesture to communicate frustration toward another driver on East Idaho Street.

An elderly woman told dispatch that she accidentally dialed 911 and hung up.


One resident asked the Whitefish Police Department to “force” construction crews on U.S. 93 to make the road more smooth.

Someone witnessed a car hit a cat on East 10th Avenue. The witness said that the driver later denied running over the animal.

A man reportedly left an eatery on Ninth Street West without paying, claiming that he had forgotten his debit card. The man was later seen at a gas station wearing jean shorts and never paid for the meal, according to the Columbia Falls Police Department.

An elderly woman had a history of making accidental 911 calls. Records showed seven since April.
