Legion baseball: Glacier Twins trounce Kalispell Lakers A 11-1
WHITEFISH — The Glacier Twins jumped out to an early 6-0 lead and scored five runs in the last four innings to beat Kalispell A 11-1 in an American Legion conference baseball game on Thursday at Memorial Park.
The Twins scored five runs in the first inning, forcing the Lakers to change pitchers before the end of the frame, and scored another run in the second to take a commanding lead.
An inning after Kalispell added a run to chip away at the lead, the Twins scored twice in the fifth inning and once more in the sixth to spread their lead to 9-1.
A two-run eighth ended the game early for Glacier, which compiled 13 hits in the contest.
Jesse Walburn was 2 for 2 from the plate with three RBIs and Jayce Fagerland was 2 for 2 with one RBI.
Brooks Krause and Haydn Schlepp were each 2 for 4 for the Lakers.
The Lakers will host Mission Valley in a conference doubleheader on Sunday. The Twins host Libby for a nine-inning conference game on Monday in their next contest.
