Bus to link Whitefish, Glacier Park

Daily bus service between Whitefish and Glacier National Park is scheduled to begin July 1.

Through a pilot project funded by the Big Mountain Commercial Association — which also pays for the free SNOW bus winter transit service to Whitefish Mountain Resort — the new Glacier Park Express will make four round trips daily to the Apgar Transit Center in Glacier Park. Two trips will be made in the midmorning hours and two trips during the afternoon.

Stops in Whitefish will include Mountain Mall, the Whitefish Community Library and Whitefish Mountain Resort.

Bus tickets will run $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under, with children under 2 riding free. Ticket outlets will be located at Montana Coffee Traders in downtown Whitefish, Whitefish Chamber of Commerce, Sportsman & Ski Haus in Whitefish and Kalispell, Whitefish Mountain Resort Base Lodge the Glacier National Park Conservancy bookstore in Apgar Transit Center.

In addition to the nonstop run to Glacier Park, the buses will make four round trips daily to Whitefish Mountain Resort from Mountain Mall, with a single stop at the library. Rides to Whitefish Mountain Resort are free.

The Big Mountain Commercial Association is a nonprofit public trade association that raises money to pay for common services and programs such as the SNOW bus, Big Mountain Road winter maintenance, the Big Mountain Summer and Spring Brewfest and the Winter Winefest.
