Jamie Foxx gives surprise Whitefish show
Musician, actor and comedian Jamie Foxx serenaded a surprised crowd in Whitefish Saturday night after spending a weekend taking in the Northwest Montana sights.
Foxx made the trip to Whitefish with his daughter at the invitation of Mike Goguen, the owner of Casey’s bar, according to marketing director Keith Lederman.
After a rooftop dinner at Casey’s, Foxx took to the second-floor stage for an impromptu concert that surprised those in attendance.
“He was a great guy and interacted with the crowd,” Lederman said. “He was really friendly and seemed like a really great guy.”
At about 1 a.m., Foxx performed some covers and original songs to cap off the night.
Lederman said Foxx spent the day riding personal watercraft on Whitefish Lake, hiking in Glacier National Park and taking in the scenery. The concert wasn’t an advertised event, but Lederman said that it was a chance to bring a surprise act on stage for the bar’s regulars and chance visitors.
“Just wanted to say thank you to the people that support us and do something fun for the community,” Lederman said.
Foxx was impressed with what the Flathead Valley had to offer, Lederman added.
Casey’s has a history of celebrity encounters, from UFC fighter Chuck Liddell to Playboy bunnies and a DJ set from Tom Cruise’s son, Connor.
