Victims identified in fatal Babb crash

The Glacier County sheriff has released the names of three people who died in a single-car rollover near Babb on Monday.

Elizabeth Edna Chavez, 31, Simon Tony Chavez, 29, and 5-year-old Kristian Chavez were thrown from the vehicle that crashed on Duck Lake Road.

They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Montana Highway Patrol said that a 1-year-old boy was taken to Great Falls via Mercy Flight and was in critical condition. A 2-year-old girl was treated at a hospital in Browning.

Authorities believe that the occupants lived in Babb.

The vehicle rolled several times before coming to a rest about 50 yards from the roadway. Four of the five people in the car were ejected and were not wearing seat belts.
