Two men on Thursday denied charges that they stole a Marion company’s truck.

Jeffrey Allen Schubauer, a 43-year-old Alaska man, has been charged with two counts of felony theft.

Douglas Alexis Campbell, an 18-year-old Marion resident, faces a single felony count of theft.

Both men entered pleas of not guilty Thursday in Flathead County District Court.

The men are accused of stealing non only a truck belonging to Arrow Concrete in Marion but also several tools and sports equipment.

An employee with Arrow spotted the truck at a convenience store and called the police. According to court documents, Schubauer was at the wheel and Campbell was in the passenger seat.

Schubauer allegedly told the employee that someone named “Jason” allowed them to use the vehicle. The owner of Arrow concrete later arrived and said nobody with that name could do that.

A day later, a man called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to report the theft of tools and sports equipment. It matched the description of things that were in the Arrow truck with Schubauer and Campbell. The man identified the equipment as his.

Schubauer initially gave a false name to authorities. They later learned his real identity and discovered he is wanted in Alaska for various probation violations.

Schubauer remains in the Flathead County Detention Center on $100,000 bail. Campbell has been released.

The next court appearance for both men is scheduled for Aug. 26.
