Soccer club says thanks to Kidsports and to Kalispell
The Flathead Soccer Club just completed two soccer tournament weekends at the Kidsports facility located off U.S. 93 and Four Mile Drive.
The weekend of May 30, the soccer club hosted its 22nd annual Three Blind Referees Tournament. There were 158 soccer teams from Montana, Idaho, Washington and Canada. Many of the teams who attend the Three Blind Refs Tournament come year after year due to the high quality of the playing surfaces at Kidsports. The following weekend (June 6), the Flathead Soccer Club hosted 82 Montana teams for the Montana State Soccer Championships, age U10 through U12 boys and girls. The soccer club received numerous compliments for the high quality and beauty of our soccer fields from soccer parents and fellow Montana soccer clubs.
Flathead Soccer Club would like to thank the city of Kalispell for its commitment to maintain the fields at Kidsports, and the staff of city employees who do such a fine job maintaining fields for our children. The city staff does an outstanding job for soccer and the other user groups (baseball, softball, Little Guy football and lacrosse).
The community is fortunate to have a facility that is the envy of most of the Northwest. A tournament the size of Three Blind Refs brings over $1 million for local businesses each year and allows the Flathead Soccer Club to offer quality soccer programs for area youth. Three Blind Referees would not be as successful without Kidsports and the support from the city of Kalispell. —Sean Connolly, Flathead Soccer Club president
