Barbara S. Scholz, 77

Barbara S. Scholz, 77, passed away peacefully Friday June 12, 2015, in Whitefish.

Barbara was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, in 1938 to Albert and Anna Peterson, and was the youngest of 13 children. She met her husband Raymond (of 19 years) in Stratford, Connecticut. Shortly after they married they moved to Montana, where she enjoyed many crafts such as crocheting. She also loved doing puzzles and has many of them framed and hanging in the Vet’s Home in Columbia Falls. Barbara was also a part of the American Legion, as well as was 2015’s Whitefish Winter Carnival Queen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna May Peterson and Albert B. Peterson; husband, Raymond T. Scholz; five sisters and six brothers.

She is survived by her brother Frank and Emma Peterson of Port Angeles, Washington; dozens of nieces and nephews and her son, Steve and Leonora D’Amico of Bridgeport, who was the love of her life and whom she spoke of daily.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls.
