Legion baseball: Glacier Twins A beat Cranbrook twice

CRANBROOK, British Columbia — Austin Robins threw 1-hit ball for six innings, struck out 10 and walked just three batters as the Glacier Twins A defeated the Cranbrook Bandits 6-1 in the first game of an American Legion baseball doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.

Colten Parker and Vinny Smith had two hits each for the Twins.

Glacier’s other hit was a double by Jesse Walburn.

Vinny Smith pitched the seventh inning for the Twins.

In the second game, Tristan Steinwand, 1 for 3, drove in four runs, Jesse Walburn went 3 for 4 and scored twice and Parker had two hits in four plate appearances to push the Twins to an 8-4 victory.

Jayce Fagerland and Walburn had doubles.

Glacier (20-9) plays a single game today at the Kalispell Lakers A at 5 p.m. Glacier has won four straight.

SEATTLE — Libby struggled on offense with just four hits in dropping a tournament game to the Spanaway Lake Monsters.

Spanaway Lake was held to four hits by six different Libby pitchers, but managed to score once in the first and sixth innings, three times in the third and twice in the fourth.

Tournament action continues today for the Loggers.

Three-run innings in the fifth and seventh carried the Kalispell Lakers to a victory on Friday night over the Mission Valley Mariners.

Spencer Pisk and Jonas Nyman had three hits each for the Lakers. Nyman and Jaycob Serrano both had two RBI.

Russ Matt went 2 for 5 for the Mariners and had two RBI.

This was the only game reported from a scheduled doubleheader.
