Police can't verify report of 'scary' man

A Whitefish resident called the Whitefish Police Department to report a “scary” homeless person sleeping in the tunnel of children’s park. The man reportedly had dreadlocks, a beard and backpack. When officers arrived, no one matching the description was there.

A Lake Park Lane resident called police to report extremely loud music coming from a neighboring residence. The caller said she didn’t think any concerts were going on in the area, and the strange “gothic metal” was spooking her out. It turned out to be a house party which was quickly broken up.

A call to law enforcement reported a jet of water shooting out of the pavement in a parking lot on U.S. 93. North. Public Works said it was likely a sprinkler head broken from a nearby lawn. 


 

The Columbia Falls Police Department took a call about a set of stolen checks from a local bank on 12th Avenue West.


 

The Columbia Falls Fire Department responded to a fuel spill on U.S. 2 East at 2:32 p.m.


 

The Somers-Lakeside Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on U.S. 93 South at 3:01 p.m.


 

The Lake County Sheriff’s Department made an arrest in Pablo for partner-family member assault and obstructing a peace officer.
