Arthur Slater, 91

Arthur Slater passed away June 23, 2015, at his home in Kalispell. He passed of natural causes.

Arthur was born in Detroit, Feb. 24, 1924.

Arthur graduated from Northwestern University as a dentist, with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS), and opened his own practice at the age of 24. He practiced for 42 years in Dearborn, Michigan.  Retirement took him to Sun City West, Arizona.

When he visited Montana at the age of 80 he decided to move! He relocated to Kalispell and finished his days in this beautiful state.

Arthur was in the US Navy from 1942 to 1952. He served stateside through 1950 and transferred to the U.S. Marine Corps, serving as a medical/dental corpsman in preparation for the Korean War of 1950-1952. He received an honorable discharge in 1952. He was a very proud American.

Arthur is survived by his daughter Sandy Bancroft, son-in-law Greg Bancroft, niece Carrie Slater Stewart and nephews Jim and David Slater.

Arthur is preceded in death by his son Artie Slater, brother Stan Slater, and parents Agnes and Stan Slazinski.

Services with military honors will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 10, at C. E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
