A man called the Whitefish Police Department from Wisconsin Avenue reporting he had been stabbed. The suspect was not on scene, but the man and two women were walking on the street leaving a trail of blood back several blocks. Officers speculated the incident had occurred in an apartment complex’s parking lot.

An upset man on Central Avenue called police to report he had been assaulted by a bouncer at a bar. When he was advised that what occurred was not, in fact, assault, he demanded to speak to a different officer. He was told to call back later to speak to the assistant chief.

A Colorado Avenue resident reported a flashing light and called to see if someone needed help. Officers investigating found a malfunctioning floodlight.

A motorist on Karrow Avenue called police to report being assaulted by the female driver and passenger of a Chevy Trailblazer. The driver threw something at their vehicle, which caused unknown damage, the caller said. Her husband took off in pursuit after the vehicle, but was advised not to put himself in danger.

A woman on Martha Road called the Columbia Falls Police Department to report her silver Chevy Trailblazer had been stolen the night before. She said she had been drugged and people came and took her stuff. Officers found a Chevy Trailblazer... in the woman’s garage. She, however, was adamant the vehicle was not hers.

A woman on Third Avenue West called to report someone had left three 50 gallon drums of some kind of chemical on her property. She moved them to the road and requested someone take care of them.

A man called police after a 12-year-old boy called him. The caller reported that it sounded like the boy was being beaten and screamed at by his father. The boy had missed three days of school and the father had been flagged for violent tendencies in the past. The matter remained under investigation.

A Riverwood Lane man called police after someone lit a Chinese lantern behind his property and then left. He was afraid the lantern would cause a grass fire.

Several brush and grass fires as well as smoke checks were reported all over the county, from McCaffery Road in Bigfork to Main Street in Kalispell and Canyon Creek Road in Columbia Falls.

The Polson Police Department had a busy day, making arrests for partner-family member assault, driving under the influence and disorderly conduct at a bar.
