BOZEMAN — The Kalispell Lakers A beat the Bozeman Spikes 18-3 on Sunday to take third place at the Howard Rein American Legion baseball tournament.

The Lakers, who played short-handed with just nine players all weekend, trailed 3-1 after the second inning but scored nine runs in the fourth and four more in the fifth to start the rout.

Eric Seaman pitched a complete game as the Lakers racked up 17 hits in the victory. Gunnar Marsh had three hits and Torin Bowden and Spencer Pisk each had two hits and four RBIs.

The Lakers finished with a 3-2 record in the tournament, falling to eventual champion Billings Cardinals in the semifinals on Saturday evening. Earlier on Saturday, Kalispell won an extra-innings matchup with Great Falls in dramatic fashion. Tied in bottom of the 10th inning, Pisk blasted a home run over the left field wall to give the Lakers a 2-1 record in pool play.
