On the road again for mower man

There was an 80-year-old man on a lawnmower who appeared lost, according to a report. The caller told the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office that the man was last seen southbound on Helena Flats. He was later seen on Montana 35, likely traveling at a very low speed.

A black bear was reportedly sniffing around a chicken coop on Windsong Way.

The Sheriff’s Office investigated a vehicle parked on Shady Lane with the window down and a wallet and money sitting on the seat. Nobody on the scene claimed the vehicle.

A man called authorities and said that he received threats over $45 that he owed somebody.

A man in Alaska said that his ex-wife was trying to sell his truck in Flathead County.

Someone was yelling obscenities at a county solid waste employee.

The Sheriff’s Office received a report that someone walked into a U.S. 93 church carrying a rifle. The man was dressed “fairly nice,” according to the caller. Investigation revealed that it was a pastor who was shooting varmints with a pellet gun.

A vacation home on Bachelor Grade was reportedly broken into. The owner reported that a deadbolt was pried open and guns and coins were taken.

One caller claimed that a known felon had 13 guns in his house.

A mailbox was blown up on East Evergreen Drive. A youth had been drinking and admitted to the incident.


The Columbia Falls Police Department arrested a woman who reportedly head-butted another person on Eighth Avenue East North.

There was a report of a pink-haired woman who stole two cartloads of groceries from a Nucleus Avenue business. Police caught up with the suspect.

Someone spotted a black bear at a Vans Avenue home. The report was given to Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.


The new resident of a Colorado Avenue home asked the Whitefish Police Department to check the home because the previous residents may have been making methamphetamine.

There was a report that a vehicle drove by some people on Central Avenue and the occupants threw fireworks at them.

There was a report of an unattended campfire on Reservoir Road. It was reported after a brief rainfall.


Evergreen Fire Rescue responded to a small grass fire at Addison Square that was reportedly started by fireworks.


The ALERT medical  helicopter retrieved a hiker from the Continental Divide who had an injured foot.
