Flathead Valley Community College’s international student club, Global Friends, will host two free community brown bag lunch presentations by Kim Morisaki on Kumamoto, Japan (Montana’s sister state) at noon Wednesday and Thursday in the Blake Hall board room.

Morisaki oversees special projects and business development at Montana West Economic Development.

Drawing on her personal experience of living in Kumamoto for 11 years, Morisaki will cover topics from exchange opportunities and everyday living to the rural community’s education system and culture. She also will share her experiences teaching English with the national Japanese Exchange and Teaching Programme.

Morisaki worked in international trade for 11 years in Kumamoto. While there, she launched and operated Big Sky International Trading, an importer of U.S. building materials and furniture to Japanese architects, developers and designers.

She later returned to her native Montana and spent five years managing national accounts for a local building products manufacturer.
