Woman wanted one more beer

The Whitefish Police Department was called after an intoxicated woman allegedly walked out with beer from a 24-hour grocery story on U.S. 93. She was told she couldn’t buy the beer after 2 a.m., so she waited until the cashier’s back was turned, left the money on the counter and absconded with the suds.

A dog on Good Avenue was reportedly left out all night and was barking continuously, bothering neighbors.


A resident on Veteran Drive called the Columbia Falls Police Department to report a man hunting with his dog. Officers approached the man, who said he was not hunting, just walking around with his bird dog and a rifle.

A mother on Fourth Avenue West asked for an officer to counsel her daughter after she caught the child mixing up people’s mail.

A Second Avenue East woman called the police on her fiancé, whom she said was “going crazy.” He had slammed his fist on the counter and was screaming at her. She said this was an ongoing issue. He allegedly called the woman’s cell phone provider and was trying to get them to shut down her service. He left for the night to cool down.

A Ninth Street West business called the cops about a disorderly man who came into the building screaming and then broke a telephone. Apparently the phone wouldn’t dial the number he wanted it to.
