Gunshots at a Valley View Drive home near Kalispell Friday evening injured two people, one of them critically.

A woman who was shot in the temple was not moving when emergency responders placed her in the ambulance.

The woman sustained life-threatening injuries. She was unresponsive and in critical condition when she arrived at the hospital.

The other victim was a man who was reportedly complaining about being shot in the abdomen.

Flathead County Undersheriff Dave Leib said that those two were the only people involved. He called the shooting “not accidental” but law officers were still investigating Friday night.

One of the injured people was a resident of the house, according to Leib.

The initial call came in around 5:45 p.m.

Personnel from the Sheriff’s Office, Kalispell Police Department and Montana Highway Patrol cordoned off the property after ambulances left.

Neighbors looked on from their yards and cars maneuvered slowly past the scene in the neighborhood southwest of Kalispell.
