The Whitefish Police Department responded to reports of a bear inside a man’s basement on Suncrest Drive. The man called to report what he believed to be a black bear in the crawl space under his house. The man originally closed the door to the space, believing a “pack rat” was in the basement, but later discovered the invasive guest was a bear. The bear was eventually removed from town.

A man called dispatch asking for advice on what to do with a bike he found in his yard on East Fourth Street. Officers retrieved the bike and took it to the station.

Reports were filed with Columbia Falls Police Department that a man in a “beat-up” car was hanging out on Talbot Road. Children playing nearby pointed the car out to officers, saying they call the man “Creeper Bill.” Further investigation found the driver of the car is, in fact, named Bill, but he was described as harmless by officers.

A “clearly intoxicated” man was reported in the drive-through of a restaurant on Ninth Street West.

Two people were yelling at each other on 12th Avenue West. They told officers they would “quiet down for the evening.”

The Kalispell Police Department was made aware of a prom dress that was stolen from a local business one month ago. The person who called in the report said since all local proms were happening on the same night, they felt whoever stole the dress would be wearing it Saturday night. The dress description was passed on to school officials.

A man got out of his truck in a fast-food drive through on East Idaho Street, “stumbled around” and began yelling at people. He seemed to be intoxicated.

A transient man wearing a machete strapped to his hip was spotted near businesses on U.S. 93. Responding officers found the man, who was panhandling, and advised him to move along.

An interaction that looked like a drug deal was seen taking place on Hutton Ranch Road. The person reporting the incident thought the group was dealing cocaine or meth.

A bag of marijuana was found near a trash can on Rosewood Drive. The man reporting the drug turned it over to officers.
