A 31-year-old Kalispell man has been arrested on accusations that he sexually abused a 12-year-old child.

Jared Ray Trujillo was charged last week with felony sexual assault. Police arrested him on Tuesday on a warrant.

According to court documents, police were alerted to an alleged pattern of misconduct by Trujillo in June 2014. The source claimed he committed sexual assault multiple times over the past couple of years. Another source told police that Trujillo admitted to “inappropriate” acts during a phone conversation.

Police interviewed Trujillo as part of their investigation. He allegedly admitted to the assaults.

If convicted, Trujillo faces a maximum sentence of 100 years and a fine of up to $50,000. He would not be eligible for parole for at least 25 years.

He is being held in the Flathead County Detention Center on $75,000 bail. An initial appearance is expected within days.
