It wasn't the big one, but the USGS has confirmed a mini-earthquake struck near Egan Slough about 6 miles southeast of Kalispell at 2:16 p.m. on Friday.

In case you don't know where Egan Slough is, we are including a locater map from the United States Geological Survey showing where today's 2.8 magnitude earthquake was (yellow star) in relationship to Kalispell.

It was probably too small to be felt, but struck about 2:16 p.m. Let us know if you did recognize the quake or if any later quakes occur!

By the way, www.earthquakenews.com reported with a straight face that "A tsunami warning has not been issued, according to the U.S. Geological Survey." We are not surprised!
