Egg pursuits planned for Easter weekend

A-tisket, a-tasket, bring your Easter basket and take your pick from a fun bunch of Easter egg hunts happening around the Flathead Valley this weekend.

SATURDAY

— The annual Easter Egg Hunt presented by Alpha Upsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will be held at 9 a.m. sharp at Boettcher Park. All ages up to the fourth grade may participate. 

Come early and meet the Easter bunny. The Boardwalk Outdoor Cafe will be open at 7:30 a.m. offering hot chocolate, coffee, cotton candy and pancakes.

First Church of the Nazarene is having a community Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. for children in preschool through third grade. The church is located at 1295 Whitefish Stage Road.

The Springs at Whitefish Assisted Living will conduct an Easter egg hunt for children 12 and under at 10:30 a.m. on the front grounds. Bring a basket for eggs. There will be a separate “little bunny” section for younger children.

The Springs is located at 1001 River Lakes Parkway in Whitefish. 

Kalispell Center Mall is working with Family Friendly Flathead to host an Easter egg hunt and family fun day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. A carnival will be held in the Red Lion Hotel Ballroom, featuring face painting, crafts and photos with live bunnies. 

Child car seat checks and missing child identification will be available. There will also be a free clothing giveaway. The ALERT helicopter will be on display outside.

The Girl Scouts will be selling cookies in the mall and children may get their pictures taken with the Easter Bunny from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Easter egg hunts will be held in both the JCPenney Court and Fireside Grill area of the Red Lion Hotel. Registration is at 11 a.m.

11:30-11:45 a.m. — 0 to 3 year-olds, JCPenney Court

11:30-11:45 a.m. — 7 to 9 year olds, Fireside Grill

12:30-12:45 p.m. — 4 to 6 year olds, JCPenney Court

12:30-12:45 p.m. — 10 to 13 year olds, Fireside Grill

Afterward, there will be entertainment featuring the Dream Dancers, Glacier Fiddle Festival and more from 1 to 4 p.m.

The North Valley Eagles host an Easter egg hunt in Columbia Falls for children up to age 14 at noon at Marantette Park. 

There will be age categories and prizes. Everyone is welcome.

SUNDAY

Hope Church is hosting a church service from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the South Pavilion Building at the Flathead County Fairgrounds.

A helicopter Easter egg drop will follow the service outside. As many as 5,000 eggs will be dropped. The public is invited. There will be fun for the whole family, including games and prizes. 

Coffee and food vendors will be on hand.

The Kalispell Elks Lodge will host its annual outdoor Easter egg hunt at 1 p.m. at Lions Park across from Rosauers on U.S. 93. Everyone is invited.
