George Benjamin Kimes Jr., 70

George Benjamin Kimes Jr., 70, of Vacaville, California, passed away April 28, 2015.

A funeral service for George will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 11, at Vaca Hills Chapel 524 Elmira Road in Vacaville. He will be laid to rest at the Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery in Dixon, California.

George was born in Montana on Dec. 27, 1944, to George Sr. and Clarice Kimes. He retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of meritorious service.

A true outdoorsman, George enjoyed camping and RVing. He enjoyed playing poker with his sons and friends from the senior center.

George is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Donna Kimes; sons, Jeffrey and Renee, Ben and Beejal, and Erik and Crysta; stepsons, Tom and Susan, and Tim and Heather; stepdaughter, Melissa and Carl; grandchildren, Bailey, Chloe, Xavier, Ashlyn, Aidyn, Elizabeth, Tommy, Zachary and one due in August; and sister, Sandra. He also leaves behind his loyal dog Lucy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Gregory; and brothers, Fred and Gary.
