Improve Airport? Please don't

| May 7, 2015 9:00 PM

Well, folks, here we are again just two short years later, and they are trying to shove the airport down our throats again. Looks like we just spent more money on a consultant again. The CTA surveys showed 74 percent wanted to keep or improve the airport. I remember the keep part but as far as improvements on the airport, no way should that come out of our tax dollars.

I have been a homeowner and taxpayer in Kalispell for over 50 years and have never stepped a foot on the place. It's like a private club and should be self-supporting. Don't ask me to help you out with your luxuries. Maybe it would be a good idea to let a sleeping dog lie.

The more I think about it, it might be a good idea to just bite the bullet and pay all these leases off and shut the airport down. This should put an end to the idea that we should be carrying the weight for those that can afford an airplane, let alone the upkeep.

Keep in mind there is a very nice airport just a couple minutes north of us. So those aviators would not be lacking a good place to take off and land. Red Eagle, just jump in there and take up your own improvement plan and leave us taxpayers alone. —Terry Bryer, Kalispell
