A Whitefish man died Saturday while working at Lake McDonald Lodge in Glacier National Park.

It is believed he died of natural causes.

Park dispatch received a call at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Saturday about an unconscious man at the lodge.

Park rangers responded to find a 68-year old male from Whitefish unresponsive and not breathing.

Rangers performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation and other life saving measures, but the man was declared dead at the scene.

The death is believed to be from natural causes.

The man, a contractor, was at the lodge overseeing a carpet installation project.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, Three Rivers EMS Ambulance and Rescue, and Glacier National Park Lodges (Xanterra) assisted park rangers.
