Students win university scholarships

Sixteen students from five high schools in Northwest Montana are recipients of Montana University System Honor Scholarships.

The scholarships, offered by the Montana Board of Regents, waive undergraduate tuition for up to eight semesters at any campus of the Montana University System or Dawson, Flathead Valley, or Miles community colleges.  

Scholarship winners are:

Columbia Falls High School: Ciera Finberg and Colter Norick.

Flathead High School: Samuel Clarin, Tia Kohs and Joshua Osborne.

Glacier High School: Megan Bridwell, Kade Deleray, Noah Hill, Keaton Johnson, Jael Konecky, David Schwarz and Samuel Stern.

Lincoln County High School (Eureka): Christian Langston and Sarah Moen.

Whitefish High School: Keaton Grove and Malia Morris.

They are among 239 scholarship winners statewide.

Students offered this scholarship must have a minimum grade point average of 3.4 at the end of their seventh semester in high school, have taken the ACT or SAT and met college preparatory requirements. They must also attend an eligible college.

The competitive scholarships are awarded based on a grade-point-average rankings combined with ACT composite test scores.
