Man visits deputy when faith questioned

A man claimed that members of a church told him that he “doesn’t have Jesus in him” and kicked the man out. A Flathead County Shefriff's Office deputy advised him to seek help from an attorney, at which time the man accused the deputy of being part of a conspiracy.A boat broke free from its shore tie and floated, driverless, through Somers Bay. It was reported by a watchful neighbor.

A Good Avenue resident was likely getting agitated after finding the third door kicked in over a three-month span.

One Wendt Way resident was missing $370 that was being kept in the freezer for safety.

Animal control was called to look over a friendly sheep that showed up at a U.S. 2 residence near Kalispell.

Another animal control officer picked up a large black dog with a white belly near Creston. It was taken to the animal shelter until it’s claimed.

A man claimed he was propositioned for “sexual favors” near a bridge. The undisclosed location is reportedly a “meeting place for homosexual predators,” according to the caller.

Three mules were reported running loose near U.S. 93 south of Whitefish.  

Passers-by may not forget this description of an alleged panhandler: “blue nylon sweat pants, Hawaiian print shirt and tattoo of sword just above his nose.”

It was a case of house theft when someone reported a stolen motor home from U.S. 2 near Kalispell.

Neighborhood kids were suspected to be ripping up mail belonging to a Bernard Road resident. Deputies offered extra patrols in the area, and the resident became profane toward officers.

A man asked deputies about evicting his girlfriend from a Patrick Creek Road home. He later dialed 911 and was reportedly hostile toward dispatch about the advice he was given.


The Whitefish Police Department assisted a resident who mentioned a “rogue cop,” stolen identity and bear spray all in one call.

A car belonging to a rental company was reported stolen from Railway Street.

Reports of a man “huffing [a] spray bottle” in the meat aisle of a grocery store were unfounded.

Police arrested a woman for drunken driving on Wisconsin Avenue.


The Kalispell Police Department investigated a series of bizarre texts that came to an Evergreen man. The texts were from an unknown woman who said she was held hostage in a Kalispell hotel and needed $300 ransom. Police received permission to enter the hotel room in question and everything was OK.

A woman told police that her husband had fallen off the wagon and took off in the pickup. She later told police that she was following her husband in another car. He eventually returned home.

A woman sold a car to someone else but didn’t take the plates off. She received the parking ticket that was caused by the new driver.

Police received multiple calls from a woman who screamed about a supposed missing child. Upon investigation, the child was with a custodial parent in Texas and the woman knew this.

Someone who called in about a swerving vehicle on U.S. 93 told police the driver could be either “texting or drunk.”
