This reported poisoning won't be capital case

A case of poisoning was reported to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office. The victims? Five poplar trees near Lower Valley Road.

A woman who accidentally dialed 911 told dispatch that she keeps her phone in her bra. Records showed three prior 911 hangups.

Someone asked the Sheriff’s Office to check on a woman and three kids who were “dumped” on the side of Montana 35 by a man who drove off.

A camper at Ashley Lake suspected another camper of stealing his vehicle’s tail light.

Someone felt it necessary to report a group of “kids” who had gathered near Riprarian Drive. The Columbia Falls Police Department found that the fish were biting and this was a fishing hole.

After a man gave a bear to a taxidermist, he learned that the business might be shutting down.


A woman told the Kalispell Police Department that she saw “a vehicle filled with young people smoking pot.” Her friend thought she smelled the marijuana odor, according to the report. The vehicle was gone by the time an officer arrived.

Witnesses said that a white pickup was swerving down U.S. 93. One driver said that driver was flipping people off and honking the horn. The truck was eventually pulled over.

A woman told police that her husband left her at an East Idaho Street eatery. She wanted a ride from police but was claiming no medical problems. Later, she dialed 911 and said she was “cold and dying.”

A woman who had a bundle of picked lilacs was accused of stealing flowers from a Third Avenue East North business. The business, however, confirmed that it doesn’t sell lilacs.


Fire broke out in a trash compactor at a U.S. 93 North business. Kalispell Fire Department helped put out the flames, reported as three feet tall.


The Polson Fire Department responded to a house fire on Rocky Point Road. The home was reported as a total loss.
