Marco Rubio is most inspiring of the candidates

| May 23, 2015 9:00 PM

I know we have a long way to go before the 2016 presidential election, but I have already chosen. I think Hillary would make a wonderful president... just kidding... only if we want another eight years of lying, cheating, ignoring the Constitution, destroying our place in the world order, and ignoring the major economic and societal problems we face, focusing instead on nonsense like climate change.

No, my choice among all the conservative candidates is Sen. Marco Rubio. Yes, Dr. Carson is a bright man with good ideas, but he is too soft spoken to succeed in and lacks experience with the bureaucratic morass that is Washington, D.C. Gov. Walker might also be okay, but he lacks that spark of inspiration so sorely needed.

But Sen. Rubio is inspiring. He is plain spoken (easy to understand), inspiring, stays on point (even O’Reilly couldn’t knock him off his message), smart and well organized. I have no doubt, as he rises in popularity, other Republicans, the Democrats and the media (especially the liberal outlets) will try to destroy him.

But I am hopeful that this young inspiring man can be the John Kennedy of the conservative movement. Let us hope we can elect someone who can give extemporaneous answers and statements fluently (listen to Hillary and Obama if you want to hear at least one “uh” for every spoken sentence) not just read someone else’s words from a teleprompter. A man who believes and practices words such as Kennedy’s “Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty” and  “Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.”

Yes, what we desperately need in 2016 is a man who can light a fire under all citizens of this country... not another Barack Obama because he is black or a Hillary Clinton because she is female. We need a Marco Rubio because he is smart, honest and competent... and inspiring. —  P. David Myerowitz, Columbia Falls
