Hospitality training offered in June

| May 30, 2015 9:00 PM

Representatives of local convenience stores, lodging properties, visitor information centers, museums, outfitters, restaurants and any businesses greeting visitors are invited to attend the new 406 Hospitality customer service seminars.

The Kalispell Convention and Visitor Bureau will host the free training at the Hilton Garden Inn in Kalispell on June 24 from 9 a.m. to noon.

The Bigfork Area Chamber of Commerce will host the training at Flathead Lake Lodge on June 25 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Business owners, managers, and front-line staff are encouraged to attend together.

Offered by the Montana Office of Tourism, Montana Superhost Program and Flathead Valley Community College, this fast-paced customer service and tourism training program is designed for Montana hospitality providers.

The focus of 406 Hospitality is for service providers to engage with their guests, promote their communities, region and state, mend guest concerns and refresh themselves and their organizations.

Combining efforts to prioritize excellent customer service ensures the viability of Montana’s economic success and its $4 billion tourism industry.

Seminar trainer Lisa Jones is passionate about Montana and hospitality. She will bring with her the goal of motivating participants to value their roles in Montana’s tourism industry, to expand their knowledge, to connect with customers and take a fresh look at ways businesses can not only attain rave reviews from customers but also keep them returning.

Jones will provide service examples and suggestions to prompt thoughtful discussions and provide practical skills and tips which can be put to use immediately.

Participants are encouraged to bring brochures, fliers or information to share about area businesses and attractions. Each participant will receive a certificate of completion.

Preregistration is required.

To register for the Kalispell training, contact Toni Moon at (406) 758-2811. For the Bigfork training, contact Heather Burnham at (406) 837-5888.

For anyone unable to attend 406 Hospitality,  a free online self-paced program, “Lost and Found in Montana,” also is available. For more information, visit montanasuperhost.com.
