Kenneth G. Storie, 89

Kenneth G. Storie, 89, of Kalispell passed away May 24, 2015.

Kenneth was born in Kalispell to Thomas and Emma (Krohn) Storie on Aug. 31, 1925. Kenneth was raised in the Flathead Valley, and graduated from North Central High School in Spokane.

After high school Kenneth entered into the U.S. Navy serving from Aug. 28, 1943, to May 16, 1946, serving on the SS Meteor, and the SS Cape Newenharn.

On Nov. 5, 1949, he married Mildred Bahr in Bigfork.

Kenneth worked as a telegraph operator from 1949 to 1955 for the Great Northern Railway, before starting his career as a carpenter for local construction companies from1955 to 1987. Kenneth loved fishing, hunting, stained glass, woodworking, boating, gardening, yard work and traveling.

Kenneth was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners, Epworth United Methodist Church and the Carpenters Local.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mildred E. Storie; daughter Karen K. Dean, and son Glenn A. Storie; grandchildren Zachary N. and Vanessa Wheat, of Spokane, and Brooke S. Dean of Oakland, California; and great-grandchildren Emery Wheat, Tucker Wheat and Presley Wheat, all of Spokane.

Memorials may be sent to the Shriners Children’s Hospital in Spokane. A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 5, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. Friends are encourage to visit the website www.buffalohillfh.com to send notes of condolence.
