Martha Clara (Morrow) Bull, 86

| November 1, 2015 6:00 AM

Martha Clara (Morrow) Bull passed away Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, in Kalispell after a short battle with leukemia.

Martha was born Oct. 30, 1928, in Kalispell to John David and Clara Lovina (Rhodes) Morrow.

She attended school in Kalispell and at the age of 18 while working at the local movie theaters, she met the love of her life, Ed. They were married Dec. 21, 1946, in Polson.

Martha was a stay-at-home mom, raising their two daughters Kathy and Karen. She spent endless hours at her sewing machine making most of the girls’ clothes, from everyday dresses to prom formals and wedding dresses.

Religion was very important to Martha and Ed and Sunday mornings were spent at the Episcopal church teaching Sunday School.

As the girls got older, Martha started her work career with jobs that included making grave blankets for Montana Evergreen, office work at Peterson and Edgerton schools, secretary at the Methodist Church, and legal secretary for Warden, Christianson, Johnson and Berg.

Family was extremely important to Martha and Ed. Weekends were spent camping, fishing, wood getting, picking huckleberries or hunting.

When Ed retired in 1991, Martha soon followed. For the first year after her retirement, Martha took care of her mom until Clara entered Immanuel Lutheran Home. From that time on, if you saw Ed somewhere, Martha was not far behind.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, in March 2015; her parents; her two brothers, Harold (Louise) and Elvin (Donna) Morrow; and her son-in-law, Rick Fister.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kathy and Robert Nockleby of Lakeside and Phoenix, and Karen and Clinton DeLong of Kalispell. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Lisa Nockleby of San Francisco; Jason and Shannon Nockleby of Phoenix, Nick and Nicole Fister of Kalispell, and Jerrod Fister of Butte. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren,Tyler and Mariah Fister, Christina Fister, and McKenzie Nockleby, and one great-great-grandson, Kail Fister. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, by her extended family at Prestige Assisted Living and her many friends and neighbors.

The family would like to thank Dr. Peter Heyboer and nurse Jessie, Prestige Assisted Living team, Home Options Hospice and team, the Rev. Steve Hermes, Doyle and Donna Carr, and everyone for their prayers, support and visits to Martha (also known as the Puzzle Lady).

There will be a public viewing from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home. Graveside rites for all family and friends will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
