Student video wins $7,000 award

Glacier High School was the recipient of a $7,000 award for its technology department after winning a video contest with its student-created video, “Immerse Yourself in Northwest Montana.”

High schools in the Flathead and Mission valleys were invited to submit student-created videos showing “why living in Northwest Montana is the best” in a contest sponsored by PureWest Christie’s International Real Estate.

Whitefish High School earned second place and $2,000 for its submission, “Flathead Valley — Endless Adventure” with Bigfork High School earning third place and $1,000 for “The Wonders of Northwest Montana.”

Other participants including Flathead High School, Stillwater Christian School and Polson High School were each given $500 for participating.

Individual students also submitted videos for a chance at winning an audience award based on online voting. The first-place audience award, $300 and two Whitefish Mountain Resort lift tickets, went to Glacier’s Reece Brandon. Second place and two resort lift tickets went to Stillwater’s Jackson Wynne. In third place, Whitefish’s Armen Keuylian received one resort lift ticket.
